Maybe (this dance will last) Forever

Cynical Dance Review Written In Internal Commentary: Meg Stuart/Philipp Gehmacher “Maybe Forever” @ DTW

Hmm, interesting…

They’re not really doing enough with this…

Okay…

Ooo, fancy blazer…

Spoken word? Umm, no…

But nice leather jacket…

All right, all right, you’re going somewhere…

I hope she’s wearing underwear…

I wonder what Alastair Macaulay is thinking…

Damn, they’re skinny…

You know, the set’s actually kind of charming…

Ooo, nice lighting effect…

Okay…

Him again…

I wonder when they’re gonna use that other microphone…

Oh, that’s carpet!…

What time is it?…

Ugh. I’m glad they finally did that…

Oh, I thought it was over. No? You’re going to sing another song? Got it…

Oh, I see, you’re just repeating material now…

Time?…

Right, we already saw that…

Same wall…

Wait, now where’s he going?…

Now he’s gonna sing…

No, he’s just going to speak to those awful synth chords…

That’s a nice yellow, though…

Umm…

WOW, that’s a snazzy dress!…

Wait. Does that mean there’s more?…

No?…

Oh. Okay.

Now. That was kind of obvious.

I should say, there was plenty I found interesting about this piece. A lot happens in those elipses! They just needed an editor. And the idea for this review was too resisting to avoid.
