It’s in the air. The television industry must be in some kind of golden age of conspiratorial cross-marketing. Counter Critic did its own ranting with this post yesterday.
Then we came across Alessandra Stanley’s jab at the TV industry in her Times review of Coming To America, the reality series starring the Beckhamses. Stanley isn’t too hard on the show, but she’s super skeptical about how it’s being promoted. “There must be a reason NBC chose to lavish an hour of prime time tonight on “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America.”” she writes.
But our favorite moment comes here:
“She does appear to be pleasant and not without a sense of humor. But that isn’t quite enough to carry viewers through an hour of house hunting, sunbathing and applying for a driver’s license, all executed with “Zoolander” pouts and poses.”
Awesome. Hopefully we’ll finally have another chance to see Magnum in its full, left-turning glory. That is, if Ben Stiller is willing to sign off on it.
